SurFace

A variety of traditionally crafted, functional ceramic objects serve as canvases for painted geometric compositions. Layers of engobes, screenprinting, glaze, and carvings create textured surfaces that interact with the shapes of mostly wheel-thrown pieces, transforming the paintings into three-dimensional forms. These pieces retain their functional purpose while blurring the line between art and utility.
